Not pregnant

Okay people, back away with the cigars and balloons and onesies. I'm not pregnant, I'm not trying to become pregnant, it's just been on my mind a bit, what with my sister having number 2 about 2 weeks ago. That last photo was Geneva hanging out with Graydon, who is about 4 months old. It was one of the first times I've seen her willing to let one of us hold another kid and not be completely crazy about it. We had to distract her with "can you point to the baby's feet?" and so on, but Chris did get to hold him while she was in viewing distance.

I've also been thinking about pregnancy because I've been sick for the last week. So exhausted every night that I come home, eat a little food, put Geneva to bed, and then go straight to bed myself and am still tired. Which reminds me a bit of my first trimester and I've been thinking to myself, "Will I be able to do this??" No answer to that. Presumably yes, but ugh.

Had a nice weekend this weekend. Except for Geneva being up at 5:30 every morning (?!). We went to barbecues, we sat around, we went to the playground. Very relaxing. Except I'm still tired and I'm extremely ready for this cold to go away.

Little bits

A few random things...

Confession: I must not be cut out to be a farmer because I am grossed out by slimy crawly things. Grubs and slugs in particular. Yesterday I was harvesting lettuce my standard way - take a scissors to it - and realized on the first slice there had been slugs living in the lettuce and now there were partial slugs everywhere and I considered giving up gardening.

New words: Geneva can now say my/mine. Yesterday she said "my chair!" with indignation while pointing at her little chair that the Porkchop was sitting in. Daddy had to be called in to remove the offending critter.

Palpitations: About a week and a half ago I started having heart palpitations. My heart would drop a beat about every 3-10 beats. After a few days I went to the doctor, they did an EKG, said it was nothing serious. Just one of those things. The internet says if it's nothing serious then you need to cut out the stress and caffeine. I can't do much about stress but I went cold turkey on the caffeine. I didn't have much to begin with so I didn't think it would be a big deal but I had headaches for days and even now I long for it almost as much as cookies when I'm dieting. The palpitations are gone now, so maybe I'll relax my restriction.

Adventures with in-laws

Today I have a truly excessive number of photos to share with you. I got a new camera at Christmas and since I know it's capable of amazing photos I just keep hitting that button hoping that the next one will be that perfect shot that I'm just amazed I caught. I get some pretty good ones. Usually I go through and filter out all the ones that are very similar and just leave my photo albums with the best of the best. Today for some reason I felt incapable of doing it. So click through to enjoy a lot of photos of our adventures this weekend. And lots of pictures of a cute baby. I really can't stop myself.

Chris's brother was visiting with his fiance and Chris's sister came down on Saturday as well and we made pretzels and went out to dinner. Today we went hiking up the Dipsea Stairs to the Nature Friends Tourist Club (really a hike in beer garden) where we drank beer and enjoyed aforementioned pretzels. All in all a busy and very fun weekend!!
